Solar cooker anyone? Solar cookers can become one of the most important solar gadgets in the future, once solar energy turns from being an alternative source of power to a main one.

These type of cooking gadget rely many on the runs of the sun to work. Solar cooker is actually a simple yet very efficient and effective sun-powered gadget to heat our food. The technology of the cooker basically is similar to that of home solar panels, solar lamp post and other outdoor solar lighting and even small appliance such as solar radio in the aspect of getting its power from the sunlight to heat and cook food.

Solar cooker is best for those locations where the sun shines its best, and especially on places where the conventional fuel sources is wanting. Solar cookers do not need electrical power and gas in order to work, which is definitely a boon to the environment.

How do solar cookers work? Basically, they heat food by converting the sun rays into heat. A slow solar cooker uses metal pots as its main cooking and heating component. The pot has a dark shade or color, which help in retaining or trapping the heat. This slowing cooks the food and maintains its warmth even after many hours.
